Let’s take a moment to talk about how exciting it is that Mindy Kaling‘s book is now available for purchase. It’s called “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns)” so it speaks to my heart. Because what am I if not a neurotic gal? And much like the image of Kaling on the cover, I look very good in pink.
When I think about heroic, funny women – Mindy Kaling (The Office, NBC) is always at the top of my list (which also includes Felicia Day, Tina Fey, Lauren Graham, & Kristen Bell.) And her book does not look like it’s going to disappoint. So check it out on Amazon. Do it. Indulge. It’s gonna make you feel happy, and isn’t happiness priceless?
Being funny is also priceless, and not enough women get praised for being funny.
I’ve actually had the chance to interview Mindy Kaling once, when the first Subtle Sexuality video surfaced. The call was kind of majorly intimidating because I value Kaling’s thoughts so much. It was also intimidating because I was not told that Ellie Kemper (Erin on The Office) would be on the call, so I had to quickly make my mostly Kaling-specific calls be open enough for Kemper to answer. My favorite part of the call was asking the girls what accessories they’d have if their TV characters were turned into Barbie Dolls. Check out the interview here.
And while you’re falling in love with her, make sure to check out her website The Concerns of Mindy Kaling. Do it, you hound dogs! (…I don’t know why I called you that. But it’s kind catchy.)
